Who it’s for
Single moms
I did this as a single mom of two boys, working full-time. I’ll tell you what the time away really cost, and how I kept up with bills in two places.
Career changers
My prerequisite credits transferred, and I kept working full-time as a PCT during the online part of school. Today I’m an RN at the same hospital.
Students
My program was taught mainly in Spanish and my clinicals were mostly in nursing homes. I’ll also walk you through everything that came after graduation.
What’s inside
Seven chapters of my story, then a workbook you can print or write in: school comparisons, questions for admissions, a cost planner and a document tracker.
About me
I’m an RN on a med-surg unit in Florida. I went to nursing school in Puerto Rico as a single mom of two boys, and during the online part of school I kept working full-time as a patient care technician at the same hospital where I work now.
I failed the NCLEX once and passed the second time. This guide is the honest version of that road: the money, the time away from my kids, the paperwork I wish someone had explained and the questions I wish I had asked.
“Ask the questions. Get the answers in writing. Plan beyond tuition.”
